New Mexico State's senior forward Wendell McKines led the Aggies to their with an 82-57 victory over Louisiana Tech in the WAC tournament final.It's the second time in three years that the Aggies will represent the WAC in the NCAA tourney, and the 19th tournament appearance in school history.
McKines led the way - as he usually does - with his 21st double-double of the season, scoring a game high 27 points with 14 rebounds.
After taking an early 14-4 lead, New Mexico State maintained their dominance and never looked back. McKines was 12-for-16 from the field, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range. Six of his 14 boards were on the offensive end as the Aggies pounded Louisiana Tech in rebounding, 46-27.
New Mexico State enters the big dance with a 26-9 record after finishing second to Nevada in the conference regular season standings at 10-4.
